I may be adopting an older 3 year old bearded dragon and was going to get his vivarium with him.
I'm preparing for the big guys arrival and I have a question about a good place to put a beardies tank.
I have two spots picked out: one is right next to my bed in the very corner of my room. This spot is very dark, peaceful and quiet - no sunlight gets to this area. However, there isn't much activity going on there besides cats lurking around and if I need to get into a nearby dresser. This is about the place where I had my other beardie situated.
The other spot would be right in front of my bed, facing the door. This area is bright but doesn't get direct sunlight. In this spot, the beardie would see/hear lots of people walking around outside my room if the door wasn't closed. He would still see people and cats come in and approach him. (the cats would be very, very interested lol)
The thing is, I know beardies love to observe things, but I'm afraid the spot in front of my bed would be too stressful, and the other spot would be too isolated.
The bearded dragon himself is very chillaxed and laid back but at the same time curious and loves to explore.
I guess I just need some help deciding and reasoning...I know it seems like I'm making a big deal out of this little thing, but I just want the beardie to enjoy his new home as much as possible and make the process of adjusting to a new place as stress free as possible.
You know what they say, location location location! lol

IMO, I would choose the spot where your beardie will get to see more people. It may mean it takes him a little longer to deal at first, but I think it will be more stimulating in the long run after he gets used to his new digs.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
