Viv pics only thread

Hey all this is some really beautiful works you've all got here! I was wondering how some of you achieved the rock effect on the sides of the vivs, and also your opinion on cost- is there any way that making your own viv could actually be cheaper than buying a premade tank? Sorry if this doesn't fit well into the category, PM me with an answer if you prefer.
And here's my tank set up. Pretty basic, but I was proud to find that pretty red rock while hiking this weekend. Oven cleaned and fresh, Yoshi seems to be indifferent though. And yes, I know the tank is starting to get small for her. That's why I'm looking into making a viv for her.

hey, some great cage photos here. inspiring stuff.
I'd love to do some of that false rock work and make a real habitat of a cage, but i've always been worried about what grout/clay/paint to use for the sake of safety. I'm sure there is enough info on this site anyway, haven't been here since Rice was a baby.
Here's his cage pics anyway...

Basking spot:
cageBask.jpg

that tape just hides his heat mat wire. From him... Her i mean. Have to get used to that.
Cooler spot :
cageCool.jpg

the real cool spots in the middle, and on her slate. cos of the 2 heat mats.

and the whole thing:

i love it cos i can just open the door and she can come out and run around. Which she does all the time.
In fact, i pretty much live in the same cage as her, so I'm gonna include some pictures of her window basking spot, and a pic of the rest of her 'cage' which i made up for a friend recently.

window spot: (not a sunny day)

her 'cage'

up in the top right of that one is the ramp to her basking spot, and she basically just runs around the outside of the room, investigating everything and getting loads of exercise, stopping for a bask here and there, for hours.
So I leave the cage open when i'm around, and we share territory. Its great.

gonna include another couple of rice cos she's deadly.

window spot, from outside: (wise Rice)

i think that one was a sunny day.

heh. yeah its a total mess, but you'd be surprised - he's always in plain sight except for two places he goes. And i know all of his spots, cos he repeats the same ones all the time, arranging them differently.
So yeah there's two places he can go where I can't see him - his sleeping spots, he won't come out by himself. But he rarely goes there.

And he has yet to **** outside his cage... yay!

thanks for the replies. :)

GtBaba-

Thanks, I just got him from one of the Sgt's I work with for $50! He will be deploying in a month and can't keep him, he just wanted to give him to me but I would have felt guilty, all he would take was $50. He is unique, I have been trying to figure out what color hybrid to call him, just cool lookin will work for know. . .

BennyBoy-

That is kind of what I am working on for the background, I will do something like that in the corners and leave the middle kind of open like it is the opening to the "Dragon's Den" with a neat panoramic picture I have from the weekend in Sedona. . . looks good!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
