Im really considering doing something like that when i transfer my beardie into her 75gal tank. What sunstrate are you using in there?

Today I redid Diamond's viv. The previous owners had some sort of large granule calcium substrate that was EXTREMELY dusty and, of course, potentially deadly. I changed to the Zilla liner and added rocks and driftwood. Unfortunately, the size I needed in the liner only came in green but I wanted the brown. Not too sure how he/she (the jury is still out on the sex) is going to take to not having loose stuff to dig in, but maybe I can add a bowl of play sand, especially if its a female. Anyway, thoughts on the new setup?

So we decided rather than spend a lot of money buying a viv for Petey that looks good in our living room, we'd build one ourselves. It measures L: 53 in. x W: 17 in. x H: 18 in.

Total price wound up being well under $200 and breaks down as follows:

Solid wood shelves from Craigslist: $25
Door (second hand from The Re Store with hinges attached)/ handles/ lock hooks/ vent: $10

Lighting (Hydrofarm FLT514 48 in. T5 fixture, Zilla Desert 50 UVB 48 in., ceramic socket)- $70

Grout/ sealant/ glue/ wood piece for front- $25

We bought the cabinets it rests on for $30 on Craigslist as well, and the heat lamp, desert background, feed dish and slate tile scraps we already had, the styrofoam for her cave for free from a friend that just bought furniture.

We chopped the shelving down the length needed, applied foil to the top to help spread light and warmth (this is an experiment, we don't know if it's actually doing anything haha). In the front we attached a piece of trim with gaps for ventilation, as well as a vent in the back. The door hinges from the top for easy cleanup of the floor. We use hooks to keep it locked either up or down.

She loves it. She's much more active and lively and will watch TV with us from it.

This is for my Leopard Gecko Mylo, coming April 18th :D

(the "gems" are just for show and have been removed  )

It may look simple, but it actually took alot of work. The viv is Exo Terra. The tiles are on top of a layer of sand to distribute the heat from the Zoo Med UTH. The moist hide is from the $store (I thought it looked like an ice cube) the hammock is hand made from a dear friend of mine, The "snowball" hide is actually a coconut I sanded, painted, glitter glued and sealed. I made the snowball pile out of salt dough, then painted, glitter glued and sealed that as well. The igloo and dishes are from the small animal department and the rug is an E-bay find and meant for doll houses. My favorite part of this viv is the snowflake vinyl decals made for me custom by "champagne4amy" They are extremely high quality and will take years worth of cleanings. :D

Working on a Viv/stand combo and was wondering where are you guys getting the sliding glass door track from? I have looked everywhere locally and can't find the stuff.

Thanks
Willis

This is our second set up. We moved Batman! from his 10 gallon to his 20 gallon today. He is only 4 weeks. We're figuring by the time we finish our DIY home he will be ready to move again :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
