This is Harry's Viv - I want to add a platform closer to the top for his bedtime, just waiting on hubby to make it for me.

Ya, I have learned that since I joined this forum. I am so new to all this that's why I joined this forum. I want my Harry happy and healthy. This is what came with him, but I was thinking using pergo flooring, I have a ton left from when we put it in our bedrooms. What do you all think? I want the sand gone ASAP so I need suggestions.

Not sure bout pergo.....you may wanna research that to make sure. Lots of folks use tile. I did for a long time but I use alfalfa pellets now. They call it lizard litter in the pet stores but I get it at tractor supply for $20 for 40 lbs vs $10 for 5 lbs at Petco

I personally love love love non adhesive shelf liner! So easy to clean up messes and once a week I pull it out throw it in the tub with hot soapy water comes our as good as new. I like that it doesn't get as cold as tiles and there is nothing loose to be ingested even by accident. I keep one or two tiles in each tank to help wear nails I find both my boys get better grip on the shelf liner compared to tiles.

The pergo is just like tile. It just looks like wood instead of being real wood. It is real easy to clean and looks nice. I thought about the shelf paper, but I am not sure I want something I need to take out all the time. But the sand is going, I promise!!! Tomorrow we are working on it. I am going to have a play area with the sand because he does like to play in it, but most of his viv will be the floor.

yeah, really anything that is loose is a danger for your dragon, they use their tongues to taste and check things out. Also, when they are eating they will miss and ingest a loose piece of substrate. They say sifted playground sand is the best to use for adults if you were to use it. I have in the past but have since switched to tile/linoleum combo. Easiest way to clean up and keep bacteria free.

That is what is in there now is the kids playsand, but I have noticed that it is EVERYWHERE and I change his water 3 times a day and his salad is offered in the AM then I take it out, because sand gets in it. I am not happy with that!! Also Harry gets Poland Springs Spring water ONLY!! No tap water for my baby!! I didn't give it to my children so I refuse to give it to him. But I do add the ReptiSafe to his water every time I change it even though it is spring water. I am so looking forward to tomorrow when we redo his VIV!! Next Friday the hubby is getting him steps with a new basking spot too and we are working on his blanket and pillow. He is spoiled, but he is good to us and gives so much affection that we need to let him know he is loved!! He seemed a little neglected when we got him so we are making up for it now. Even my 4 year old loves him. She sings him to sleep every night and has been for a month now!!!

My beardie set up for my beautiful baby, Xena! 9 months old.

A few things need changing; getting rid of the coil UVB and replacing it with a tube. Also changing the sand to tile and in the process of creating my own rock walls because she loves to climb!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
