So I have loki in a 55 gallon tank and it seems kinda cramped and I want to build something bigger for her. I have two 75 gallon tanks which I bought with a whole lot of other tanks and my idea was to take a piece of glass from the front and the back side of the opposite tank and find a way to fix them together so instead of being so skinny width wise it'd be a perfect size plus bigger in length. any ideas or suggestions on my idea? it would be two 75 gallon tanks somehow put together..was thinking ge door and window silicone.

are they glass? if so you'll have a bit of dificulty getting them together! it would be alright if you can get them together, but you'll need a higher watt heat source!

I know quite a few people use wood but I am worried about parasites and infection, how to clean and treat wood in the instance of parasites. Granted it keeps heat in better, but would it be able to handle the heat source if the lights are on for a 12 hour period and I have a ceramic heat emitter for night?

the wooden vivs dont really harbor wood, yeah, the wood is fine with heat, i have 1 100w light on for 12-14 hours along with the uvb and then the cermic at night, its fine! and i have my leopard in wood and shes fine in there!

I've seen wood vivs before and right now she's in a 55 gallon glass terrarium with stick tile for the bottom (no problems with it and easy to clean) with her repti hammock, her rock hide and her food dish, plus a little log looking ramp so she can get on her reptihammock. It just seems a bit cramped and I wanted to give her something bigger. I watched a video yesterday on how to build a wood viv. I like the melamine but it's quite expensive and I heard very heavy, and the fact I'm getting ready to move I don't want to have something extremely heavy (even though I've got 2 snakes the probably weigh the size of her current tank if not more). I think I will try wood, get a few ideas from some places and see what I can come up with.

whoops, mis typed my last post :banghead: if your build them from a wood thats quite light them it shouldnt weigh too much! the wooden vivs do weigh a ton, as do glass aswell, space is nice for a beardie, they love to explore! mines in a 4x2x2 viv, just the right size!

Yea, Wood would be your best bet.. Im building one too for my female Rexi and my male tank and Im going to stack them... They are going to be 75+ Gal and are gonna have lights inside them!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
