Vision Issue?

I have a adult female beardie and I have noticed that she has a tendency of running into the white walls of my apartment. I noticed this more recently because she used to mainly stay by the patio door and look out the window, but has taken to exploring the entire apartment some days when she comes out.

She does glass dance an awful lot, but that part doesn't worry me. What worries me is that she runs full force into the walls... I'm of course worried she's going to hurt herself, but mostly am curious as to the cause. (she has not hurt herself yet, so I'm trying to prevent anything that could happen).

The blinds that cover the patio door are white as well and I was thinking that she may have trained herself that the blinds are white, and they move when she runs into them...

Just looking for any thoughts on this subject... could she have vision problems? or is this just a weird behavioral thing I should watch out for?

Her tank is about 115F on the hot side (I have a smaller bulb to switch to), and the cool side is about 85F.

She also tends to act like she's very interested in the UV light on the tank. There have been a couple times I've caught her out of range of the actual heat bulb and trying to get as much UV light as possible. (I just replaced the UV bulb a week or two ago)

Hi there,

I would try to lower your temps. You don't want to go over 110 on the basking surface.

What uvb bulb are you using?

My beardie does the same thing! I recently moved and the house now has white walls and he'll run right into them and walk against them.. I'm a little worried too. I'm curious what others answers will be.

Yeah since the temperature outside has gotten warmer quicker in the last couple days, I didn't even think about it. I did change from the 150wt to the 100wt bulb this morning, so after work I'll double check the temperatures.

I just use the exoterra repti glo 10.0uvb light. I just replaced it, and she doesn't seem to be searching for UV anymore, so that may have fixed that problem.
