Hello
Has anyone ever made a viv out of a tall computer cabinet? My neighbor has one they want to get rid of and it is in great shape. I think a double level viv with lots of climbing abilities is a great idea. What does everyone think?

People use all sorts of furniture to create a viv. If you have a nice tall cabinet available it may be a great base for one. I like to encourage tall setups whenever possible because they love to climb so much. Can you post some photos of what you'd be starting with?

It's a little bit on the narrow side, but it has good depth and the height will provide plenty of climbing room if you use it wisely. Keep in mind the lighting will take up some of the height, so it's nice to have a bit extra there. I'd take a look at the lighting examples that Taterbug put together for some ideas on how to lay everything out and set the lighting in a tall enclosure. https://sites.google.com/site/thelizardmadness/photogradient

Cooper dragon thank you so much for taking the time to look that up for me. I truly appreciate it. I love the idea of a tall viv providing climbing room. When DH and I went to pick it up and we were loading it in the car he said did you ever think of using it on its side as opposed to upright. I hadn't even thought of that. If we do that it would give Charlie all most 5 feet in length, almost 3 feet in height and just 2 inches short of 2 feet in depth. I'm thinking that would be perfect. What do you think?

That sounds amazing so long as you can rearrange the legs and fit in all the glass, which I am assuming you already have plans for.

Yes raging raptor we do. We've decided to use it on its side. Provide support for the back & bottom, remove the shelf in the middle, remove the drawers support there as well. The doors will be removed and tracks placed for sliding doors. Cut areas for the vents. The inside will be handcrafted with stryrofoam sheets and molded. We made hides and rocks for the viv he is in now as well as for my hermit crabs.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
