Yes, the doses my vet gave were in ml, not mg  and he's already taken one of the higher doses. And Shanny is right, panacur is given by 1 dose per week, not daily, so that could have been the issue. So now that he's feeling better & if you feed him first, the weekly dose won't bother him so much, I'm hoping, like Gabriel. He has only 3 doses left & I'm so hoping he'll be clear.

Good luck Figment, hope you feel better & better & better going forward, you sweet little boy!

Figment did 2 doses 10 days apart. A full cc each. His next one would be tomorrow. I'm waiting for my fecal kit. See what it shows, pm Tracie, and move from there.

My opinion is that oral fluids made all the difference. A good soak is needed, but something to be said for this juice thing. Could my babies use the same dropper? Or do I need to keep that exclusive to Figment too?

Well, I'm not sure what to think tonight... Today Neo stayed home so he could be there for Figment while hubby and I had to work. He is getting super responsible with the dragons. So he learned how to give Figment his juice mix without drowning him and he was really excited that Figment took quite a lot of it from him. He also got him to eat what he called a "pretty hefty hornworm". He still hasn't pooped again, but I can't say I'm surprised. Honestly, I'm kind of glad for that because I feel better with hubby or I doing the necessary super cleaning.

Additionally, hubby was telling me this morning about Figment going up to his basking spot and staring out the vent window at hubby to show him a big ole black beard and head bob at him. Very feisty. We took it to mean that he was feeling better and wanted attention and to come out and play. Soooooooo... I was totally expecting to come home from work to the beautiful, happy little guy that greeted me last night. Not the case. :(

When I got home he was hiding. Tucked away in the corner where he spent too much time when he was feeling sick. So, I pulled him out and got his blankie. He didn't fight me, but he really didn't care either. His colors seem pretty much fine. So, just as a test I let him look in Fluffy's viv. Nothing. Might as well have been looking at a brick wall. :| Then I showed him Crystal's viv. He's usually at least curious about her. Nothing again. :| So, he's on my chest now in his blankie and he's like a bump on a log. He's lying here with me. Not acting like anything is wrong. But he won't snuggle or anything either. I'm not sure what to think now. Too much food too quickly? This stinks.

I'm sorry his day didn't continue to be a good one. :( Maybe he was so feisty, so quick he got overtired? I hope in the morning he is looking spunky again. Hang in there, we are all praying for Figment

I'm thinking overtired, too. When they're sick they will go up & down, especially since he got such an overdose, it'll take some time to get him sorted out. I wouldn't worry about him if he's got his good colours on, just snuggle when he wants. See how he is tomorrow. I'm sure he'll be feeling better soon, poor little guy. You know, it's like toddlers, they're up and about & then back to lying down. They overdo when they're feeling good, then go through the "not feeling so good cycle". I've always considered my boys beardie "toddlers" no matter what their age!

That's the same thing Tracie said. Exhausted himself. :) And he was out like a light last night. Good. He was kept fairly warm during the nights when I was medicating him, so I bet he's enjoying the proper rest right now. I will post later today.

Thanks for keeping me updated on him, it's awful when they're sick, like I said, just like toddlers. Go until you drop!

We seem to be doing pretty okay tonight. He drank a little juice today. No worms. I received my package. So, when I got home I mixed him up a little apple baby food, critical care (apple banana flavor), probiotic powder and a couple drops of calcium. Figment took about somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of a teaspoon of the mixture. (I offered a little bit to Fluffy and she licked a bit and got mad at me.) I also mixed a little bee pollen powder with some water and offered that to everyone. Nobody was terribly interested.

I brought Figment out to snuggle after all of that and he is just as sweet as he can be. Really seems to be improving, but it's so obvious that he just isn't himself. I sure can't wait until he's all better.

He hasn't pooped since Friday. So, I am waiting anxiously for that so I can test him again.

Deb, is there a specific ratio for mixing the critical care and carnivore care for them? How bout the bee pollen? Right now I'm looking for anything I can do to make things better.

I always mixed the critical care or carnivore care, 1 tsp powder with 1 tsp of butternut squash babyfood, sometimes 1 tbsp & 1 tbsp, depending on how many dragons I wanted to give it to. That way they would lap it up. I'd syringe feed them with it and it always worked. I'd always find the syringe would get stuck after a couple of uses, then a friend told me she washes them in the dishwasher, who knew, so now the syringes last forever. So that's how I've always presented it. Sometimes, depending on the dragon & how sick they were, like Gabriel, I'd mix it with Heinz chicken w/5 veg babyfood, as that's his favourite. While the other dragons love the squash babyfood. But that's always what I mixed it with, plus I never got flavours of powders & rarely the critical care, usually always the carnivore care. Hope that helps.
Good luck with your little guy, sounds like he's finally starting to mend,
Deb

Fantastic weekend for Figment!!! He is doing terrific! He pooped for me yesterday. Massive diarrhea. :banghead: I ran a fecal check and screwed it up pretty good. But he was still doing a lot better attitude wise. So, I was feeling pretty good about him and felt like I was just needing to keep up with the critical care and all that good stuff and we are totally on the road to recovery.

Then, today was amazing! He was exploring his viv like a maniac. He would duck behind stuff and check things out and then pop up at one corner by the door peeking out at us to say "Hi! I'm here! Anybody wanna pay attention to me?" Then he'd duck back behind the bricks and run across to the other side, and climb this one ramp he never goes up. He'd come back down, run back behind that ramp, stay out of sight for a couple minutes and then I would see his head pop up at that end of the viv. He would peek out as us like "Really! Let me out and we can all play!" He scampered around like this all day long. It was great seeing him so happy and having such a great time.

Finally, we let him out to run around a bit and he decided to poop on the sofa. Now, normally this would annoy the heck out of me. But, check this out! First of all, he pooped TWO DAYS IN A ROW!!! Holy cow! He hasn't done that in MONTHS! His normal had become once a week. Two days in a row was a great surprise. It gets better! His poop was NORMAL! It was a tube and perfectly formed. No smell at all!!!! :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :blob8:

I really think we are finished needing a sick little Figment thread! I am so excited. So, please come and visit Fluffy & Figment's regular thread and I will post everything going on there - including anymore updates on Figment. I know he still needs that final fecal exam. But we are definitely past the worst and I don't think I will need to be panicking on a separate thread anymore. Here is the link to their regular thread. viewtopic.php?f=49&t=169048

Excellent news! You've done a great job! My compliments to Neo, also, for being such a responsible beardie owner. :D

Glad you have the set up to check fecals. Gabriel had normal poops, no smell but still had parasites, so he now has only 2 more doses of panacur & he's done! I'm so hoping for a clean fecal this time. And I'm so glad to hear that Figment pooped normally today & that he was so active, now to get his appetite back! I'll be checking your other thread from now on, too. GREAT WORK FIGMENT! Keep it up!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
