Maybe im in the minority (hopefully not) but if Riley (my Dragon) was unwell or showed the slightest sign of being unwell I am mortified to the point of feeling sick myself. The guy who you speak about may have the best of intentions but as I have said in other posts, doing your own thing in regards to keeping and caring for a beardie is fine BUT NOT AT THE RISK OF YOUR BEARDIE'S HEALTH..... Grow up and sort your life out.

Well, like many of you guessed, the owner decline my offer to take him. But on the bright side, I gave him a care sheet with everything he needs to know to take care of his beardie, and I think it might have made an impression on him. He said that I don't think he cares at all about his dragon but he really does and he will look into getting the stuff on the list. That's about all I could hope for.

Did you offer him monetary compensation or just offer to take the dragon off his hands? I know if I had a random person telling me that I was doing everything wrong (doesn't matter if I actually was or not) and then say I'll take that specimen of your hands as i can offer it better care, I would be telling that person in no uncertain terms to stick it where the sun don't shine.

No I did not offer any compensation, so I obviously wasn't surprised by him turning down my offer. I wasn't asking for his enclosure that he paid for, just the dragon. I thought he might be up for the idea because he didn't seem like he cared whether or not he had him.

But it really seems like you guys are missing the point of my post. Many of you seem to be more concerned with telling me how I'm wrong for trying to help this beardie than you are for his health. I guess I should have just kept what I seen to myself.

No, you shouldn't have kept it to yourself. This forum is here to save and help beardies and that's what we should be interested in. Perhaps offering him a small amount of $ may make a difference. At least most of us would have pursued it. I have a feeling that you didn't go there with loaded barrels telling him how things should be done but rather sharing some of the info you learned. You are not at fault here at all, thanks for sharing this story. You have a big heart and I hope you can rescue that poor beardie.

Nah mate, I think you misunderstood my comments there. It's good of you to offer the help, but I'm just saying that from his point of view (well mine really) in that situation that's how I would feel.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
