I have a little girl who is almost 7 months old.. and she is very petite. Not exactly small.. just skinny. I feed her salads consisting of mustard, collard, and turnip greens. And she gets tons of small dubia a day (i don't count them).. and she is still skinny. I see her eating greens and chasing down every one of her dubia. So i am just confused. I don't have an exact weight on her.

Do some beardies just have a slim frame while they grow?

She is a spunky little girl that flips and jumps all over her 40gal tank and she is still basking.. so i know this isn't affecting her health at all.

Beardies do have different body structures, but can you post a pic if you don't have her weight ? If she is too thin, you might need to go up a size in her feeders. she sounds and acts healthy though.

Have you had a fecal done? Often parasites account for a lack of growth or weight gain in animals who are otherwise eating and behaving normally. Clear out the little hitchhikers and they catch up very quickly.

Hmm I have not had a fecal done on her. She came straight from a breeder and eats the same as my other girl, who's quite plump hehe. And i buy all my feeders from very respectable breeders from this site.

I am worried about one thing. A few weeks back, a stinkbug (my area is infested with them) found it's way into her tank.. and she, being the spunky little girl she is, jumped and attacked before i could get to the tank in time to stop her from eating it. I kept a VERY close eye on her the next couple of days to see if she showed any signs of being sick (runny poo, lethargy, etc) and she seemed fine. But now I am beginning to think that she picked up something from it.

I will make a vet appt ASAP. I am a poor college student and unfortunately don't have the funds most of the time.

Here's a pic of her (not the best).

Maybe I was just being paranoid because she's growing slower than my other.

Vets will sometimes run a fecal without needing to make an appointment for the animal to be seen. My vet charges $25 dollars for a fecal, so it isn't too bad price wise if you can find some one who will let you skip the check-up.

Are they in separate tanks?
Yes they are in separate tanks. I did my research before adopting a second baby. :)

Some vets will work with you on payment if you let them know the situation. She looks a little
on the skinny side but not by much. She may just be a slow grower, some beardies do not progress
as fast as others. She does look healthy though :)

Check out carecredit.com. I'm a college student too and with animals that seem bent on getting into something all the time and flea meds it makes life a whole lot easier. Find a vet on their list that supports it, all vets in my area do, that you can take your beardie to and then just sign-up. It'll ask how much your procedure will cost and just put something like 300 or 500 as that will become your card limit. It's technically a medical credit card that you can even use for dentist and regular doctor so you pay a monthly bill. A friend of mine working next to no hours was able to get one for her cat.

carecredit.com is awesome, i have their card. as long as you make the payments on time and can pay it down before the finance charges hit in its worth it. it is used just for medical and can be used for vet visits, dentists, doctors, eye doctors. i used it when i had my cat.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
