Ventilation and heating safety

I’m trying to better insulate a 24” x 24” x 48” wood sided tank with a metal screen lid and have a couple questions:
How much of the screen can be covered safely to keep in heat?
It does have a small vent in the back panel for cords, but I doubt it provides much air

Do you recommend a safety screen for a basking bulb/CHE if the beardie likes to jump?
I’ve kept them on top of the screen till now.

Hi there, I would say how much can be covered varies but I'd say at least 3/4 . And yes, a safety screen would be good for the CHE. How is your beardie Jasper doing BTW ?
