Veggies/Fruits, Not eating, Skinny dragon?

Alright, I posted a long time ago when I first got my dragon, and all he wanted to eat was veggies. Now he's completely different. For awhile he wanted to eat only insects, but now he won't eat every day. It's every other day/every 2 days. I give him a mix of greens everyday, and once a week grapes, carrots, and apples. He'll barely touch it, unless I spray his nose with some water, and force him to taste it. But it seems he'll only eat the grapes, and once I sneak something else in he runs away from my hand. I've also been dusting, which he ate a few insects, then stopped and ran from me when I tried to give him more. He's always been a smaller dragon (compared to my sisters, which is a freaking monster sized dragon), so I don't expect his weight to ever be as high as I'd like it. He's about 8 months, and seems pretty active (doesn't run though).

Here's some pictures of him:

He's in a 40gallon tank. (though I have barely anything in it right now) How can I get him to eat more veggies, and insects? Also, is he took skinny for being 8 months?

This has nothing to do with his size/feeding, but here's some of Patricks' personality:
He enjoys sleeping on mommy, sitting in the grass on warm days, freaking out after he poops, taking car rides, getting his head rubbed, sitting in a warm bath, jumping on his grandma, attacking the pet store cashiers, biting everyone but me, and running on my keyboard.

Hi there.....he sounds like a sweet little guy. :) Although he looks " slim" he soesn't look skinny. His legs + tail base look fine. Just to be sure that everything's O.K with the set up, can you list the exact type + brand of lights you're using as well as pics of his set up ? Fruits aren't really necessary as part of a beardies diet, the focus should be on turnip, mustard, collard, danedelion, kale [ not as much ] and squash. And remember, some beardies are actually overweight when the owners actually think that their fatness is a sign of health. A bigger dragon is not necessarily a healthier dragon.

His lighting is Zoo Med Repti Basking Spot Lamps, 150 Watts.
Zilla Under Tank Reptile Heaters, Medium (At night)

Here's the setup:

He has a mix of mustard (70%), collard (20%), turnip, and kale to fill in the rest. He won't eat squash of any kind, I've tried. I don't give him much fruit, it's mainly when I'm worried about him not eating enough that I actually give him that so he eats something. When I do give him fruit, it's only apples, and grapes, with a little carrots.

Wow, I actually had no idea about that. I thought them being chubby was actually a good thing. I don't feel as bad with him being his size then. (Though he could be a bit more chub) I'll have to give my sister this info as well, her dragon was over a 1lb when we weighed her.

It looks like you have a heat bulb but no uvb light. The uvb is what helps the body absorb calcium, which affects everything including appetite. So you need a long tube Reptisun 10.0 long tube bulb to set on top of his tank. Not the compact or coil uvb,the long tube in the long fixture. Here's a link :

You should also get him a n ice basking log, you can pick one up from outside, clean it off if needed + pop it in a preheated 250 oven for an hour. Not a pine or any type of sappy wood. Dragons like to climb , it's natural for them.

You're welcome. :) You'll need the hood to go with the bulb of course, you can find both at Pet mountain, Amazon or Dr. Foster + Smith [ that's where I buy my stuff, great service + free shipping if you order over $50.] I thought my link was to Dr. Foster + Smith, so have a look there .

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
