So my little Milo is once again, being completely stubborn. He was in and out of brumation since December, so I was a little more "understanding" of him refusing to eat, but now I'm getting annoyed. This lizard will not even touch his dubia's UNLESS they are the extremely tiny nymphs.... which is aggravating because it takes like, a hundred of them to fill him up. He straight up refuses anything too large. I've been trying to get a hold of some silkworms, but all of the places with good prices are out of stock currently. I'm reluctant to try horn worms because he hates everything and anything that is green, literally. He will spit it all out.
So that being said, the only thing he's eating for me these days are wax worms and sweet potato. Anything else is a no go. He WAS eating large dubia nymphs, but I think I spoiled him too much with the worms, and he's now only willing to accept those. Might just have to pay the price for worms to get him eating again, especially because he lost so much weight from brumation. But basically, he won't eat any veggies besides a rare bite or two once a week of greens. I've stopped buying them completely because he refused to eat them, and force feeding him resulted in him spitting it out. I went 2 weeks+ without feeding him anything BUT veggies and he still refused. But when I throw in a worm, he'll run and pounce on them.
Good thing is, he drinks water both from a bowl when I move it with my finger, from the tub, and from a hamster bottle. I'm thinking of using this to my advantage and making him a veggie smoothie, but I'd like to hear recommendations and thoughts about this. I'm gonna run to the store tomorrow and pick up the following ingredients;
-mustard greens
-dandelion greens
-kale (maybe)
-frozen strawberries
-either watermelon or cantelope
-water
-calium and vit powder
IF he drinks this, this will save me a lot of headache when it comes to the brat eating. I've got to fix his diet quickly, because it's getting out of control. I'm going to take him to the vet soon for an annual checkup and stool testing as well, even though his stool looks normal and isn't worrying me. It's his attitude and stubbornness that is the problem haha. So, what do you think of this idea?
