UVB Placement

Hi all!

Got my T 5 10.0 bulb. Is it supposed to be placed right above her basking rock? I used to have the heat bulb directly over the basking rock but it’s over to the side now because I currently have the UVB directly above the basking rock. I attached a pic. Is this ok?

They are side by side so to speak? Please get a surface basking temp- and your distance for the uvb should be 8-10 inches

Yes the distance is good and the temp is currently 100. I can adjust the heat bulb higher though with the switch to get to 105. The heat bulb is like a bit to the side of her basking rock now because I positioned the uvb completely over the decor piece. Just want to make sure it ok like this. I attached an overhead pic.

As long as your getting your basking temps that you need your good

Wait!! One more question. She does have some branches and vines that run throughout her tank. If she is propped up on a branch under the uvb and heat bulb, is she too close to the lights? I don’t want her to get burned.

How close are they? They should not be closer than 6" most recommend 8"

I’m going to have to bring them down. They are about 5-6 down from the Cover
