UVB lighting/ MDB

So i have a reptisun 10.0 that runs all across my beardies tank. Its a 40 gallon tank. It is mounted on top in a zoo med terrarium. But it has a reflector in the back of it.i was told that this is okay from another person on this website but i sort of want a 2nd opinion.. I was wondering if this can still cause him to get MDB. I dust his crickets and also feed him phoenix worms. He eats greens everday and is active but in his recent shed i noticed his mouth slightly open on the side. This is what got me worried..plz i need somebody to tell me everythings gunna be fine and if not what i can do to improve it

The reflector is fine and won't get in the way of anything.

How often do you dust his food with calcium?
How close can he get to the UVB light?
Do you have another basking light for him?
What are the temps in his tank?
How often do you mist/bath him?

These questions will be able to help make a better diagnosis for the open mouth

Thank you for ur reply...i dust his crickets at least 3-4 times a week sometimes a bit more. I also have multivitamin supplement for him. He is shedding his fave right now as well. Temps on warm side are 90+ and basking spot is around 100 or 105 at the most. Nd he gapes as well ince hes in his hot spot and will move. Cool side is around 80. He has a basking spot that is like 4-6 inches away from the UVB. And sumtimes theres a spot thats right under it and he likes to stay there but that is only occasionally..do u think maybe its because hes shedding. Its not super open just slightly but idk if thats normal or not

I'm not an expert, but your beardie looks just fine to me. All of your temps are correct, as well as the supplements, you're doing everything right and he looks totally healthy to me! If you're really worried you can always take him to the vet, but honestly I think he looks great.

A reflector will amplify the effects of the UVB bulb, rather than dimish it. It's been shown to almost double the amount of UVB getting to the beardie.

If it'll calm you worries, you can do a bloodtest at the vet's office, and it can tell you vitamin levels, calcium levels, etc. Your beardie looks fine from the pictures. What about him indicates, to you, MBD?

Nah his closeups look fine. Most people would recommend having a reflector, just for the extra UVB. It looks like you have a really good setup for him. :D

If anything, the UVB might be a little close to his basking spot, simply because you have the reflector behind it. If you notice him closing his eyes for an extended period of time, or any problems with his eyes, you might want to try lowering his basking platform.

The close ups show a little gaping of the mouth right at the back, this is normal for when their shedding. Their bodies are growing and re-proportioning themselves. I believe your beardie is just fine! :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
