UVB light question?

I just posted in the intro that I am very soon buying my first, possibly two as my other half really wants it to be two, bearded. I was rummaging through my attic looking for my old heat lamp fixture (which sadly i couldnt find) and came across and old blacklight tube fixture and wondered if this could be used to hold the uvb tube. the blacklight tube coming out of it is 18 inches from prong tip to prong tip, so i think (ok hope )that the 18in tube for UVB will fit. My question is that this light is not completely enclosed, see attached photos for details. Can I still use it?

I dont no about the holder, I think u can use it, but for UVB I recommened either a Reptisun 5 or 10 or a Reptiglo 8 or Reptiglo 10. You can get them here athe cheapest http://www.petmountain.com

Yes you can use that and get the 18`` reptisun 10.0 uvb!!

i wasnt gonna use a blacklight lol i am getting the repti sun, i was questioning the holder and the fact that it isnt closed in.

It is good that it is not closed in. The light should be unimpeded, so the fact that it does not have the cover. I do not use a cover on mine and it works great. Good luck.
