My BD basking spot is a log. The top end of the log is 100 and the lower part is 99 where he spends his time when basking. I am using the zoomed combo that comes with the heat lamp and red night lamp. I never use the night lamp but when I turn it on with the day lamp it raises the temp to a perfect 104-105 but then he wont bask there.
1. Can I use both lamps in this combo to keep the temp up or is that a hazard? (holds 100w bulbs)
2. If he wont bask there at the right temperature and basks when its 100 how is that healthy? I thought babies were supposed to bask at a min 105?

You can use that combo I have the same one. But I use regualar light bulb on one side and a ceramic bulb on the other side. they keep the temps at about 103. And babies can bask at 100 it is fine.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
