Hi! Not sure if this is the correct place for this post, but I was wondering what everyone does with their UVB bulbs after 6 months is up. Since they still put out light, they're technically still usable for non-reptile purposes. I never throw mine away, and just put them back in the box for when I find a use for them. I want to start using them for task lighting in my art room, but I'm not sure if that's ok to do... I figured, at the very least, since the UVB output is no longer sufficient for my beardie, it's probably not terrible for humans at that point. But just to be safe, I planned to get a fixture that has a plastic covering (so I don't come into contact with the rays directly from the bulb). Am I crazy, or is this something people actually do?
