Boise is about a year and a half years old. Ive equipped her tank with the lights suggested in this forum. Today we were in the car together and she was fine. I stopped looking at her because i have her in the car all the time. When we arrived home i was about to take her out when i saw that she was bright yellow with a jet black beard and a mouth pointed to the sky. She was also stiff. Its been an hour since we've been home and she is still like this!!! Ive tried bathing her, putting her back in her tank, etc. Nothing is working. I need Help PLEASE!!!

Oh my, she is in extreme distress ! Was she left in the car at all, in the heat ? She is either overheated or ate something from the floor that has caused an extreme reaction. You will need a vet ASAP, and explain everything....she may already be too far gone....hope she will pull through.

She couldn't have taken anything off the floor because she was in her traveling tank. I was in the car the whole time so there was no change of over heating. I took her to the oradell animal hospital and they charged me $170 just to tell me she had passed away. They would be able to do an autopsy for an additional charge but they had essentially told me that it is common for healthy beardies to take a turn for the worst in one day. They said that they can extract a disease or they can have internal problems. They don't think the car ride had anything to do with it because like I said, I bring her anywhere

I'm so sorry to hear that =(. She may have had an internal problem that she was hiding (they are very good at hiding illness) until the end. It's crazy that the vet charged you anything to declare her dead much less $170.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's especially difficult since it was so sudden and unexpected and without apparent cause. Like the others have said, they do hide illness very well and whatever was wrong had probably been coming on a while without evidence. We're here for you.

I wanted to offer my condolences, too. What a sad, unexpected event.....I'm so sorry. :(

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
