Urgent health question (for bird owners)

So, I know that this isn't a budgie forum, but I just trust the folks at beardeddragon.org the most. Anyway, don't answer this if your not knowledgeable about budgies. So lately my budgie has been very fat. I bought him/ her (I'm unsure about the gender but I'll just call my budgie him for now) some pellets because seeds are bad for them. But now, instead of getting better, my budgie is very fat. another thing he might be is puffed up. Does that mean he's sick? Because he's acting normal other than that. :?

I believe yours is a Recessive Pied male: you can tell by the pink cere (nose). Anyways, it looks like he may just be puffing up... Has he gone through any moults recently? If not he could just be getting ready to..

He may also be a little cold and could be puffing up for temp regulation.

I'd post on a budgie forum to be sure though.

Thanks for replying! I forgot to add that he's been puffed up for a long time. He's literally playing and eating and walking around all puffed up. I'm not sure why. It's weird. As for temps, I've thought about that. The room temp is usually 81f in my apt, but today it dropped to 78f. Also, I used my beardie's probe thermometer and measured The inside of the bird cage: it says 72f.
Oh, and thanks for telling me his gender . I've wondered it for a long time. I have posted in budgie forums, but I haven't got any replies at all. In some forums you have to wait for moderators to check over your post. I've been waiting all night.

I went to the vet, and found out what was wrong. My budgie hadn't been eating the pellets and had become very thin. I didn't know because he was so fluffed up. he was fluffing and tail bobbing because he was stressed from not eating much. I've switched him back to seeds for now.

I am glad that you got some answers for your bird!
So he was not liking his food & had stopped eating? That is too bad but hopefully he will start eating the seeds now.
