Urate issue

Every time i think i know everything i need to keep him happy there is one more thing i find out.. this time its about urate, i understand the urate is not meant to be hard, but both of my dragons urate have been hard, now he is pooping like 7 inches away from the heat bulb, i never have caught him pooping so i dont know if its soft when he first poop and just gets hard because of the heat or what. I have read up that hard urate is mostly caused by lack of hydration, everyday he gets some salad in his cage with a few leafy greens and some carrot that i spray with water before i put in the cage, i havent misted him a whole lot since i have had him maybe twice and i have had him for a week, i dont see him drinking the water from its nose but he does just sit there and take the water in. Is it ok to mist him in the cage (worried about humidity) because i am yet to handle him so i cant bring him out of the cage to mist him. Thank you any help is appreciated

Misting in the cage is no biggie just don't do it too much. Try putting little droplets of water on his nose and getting him to drink it that way

As for the urate, it definitely hardens up after time, especially in the heat. Sounds like that's what it's doing if it's only 7 inches away from the bulb
