Hey guys! I took everyone’s opinions and advice and did a little more research. So as of right now, I have everything I need! I will insert before and after pics of the tank itself AND Diesel

I now have the reptisun 18” T8 UVB Bulb and the 40 gallon tank

You may want to mount that uvb inside rather than on the mesh since the only tube lights that are strong enough are t5 HO 10.0's. This is because the uvb gets blocked out by 40% so with the already somewhat week bulb (t8 10.0's are i believe the same strength as a t5 5.0) you have to mount them inside to provide enough good uvb. You'll also want it closer to the basking spot so when he basks he gets uvb as well.

Also he looks very healthy and happy.
