Hi, just an update on Eragon.he still doesn't want to eat he has not a crickets or dubia's for more than a month now not even salad.I feed him baby chicken food and I give him electrolytes and acidophiliz+ but nothing he still doesn't eat I really don't know what else to do.Please someone Reply

Hi junior....I'm really sorry that Eragon is still not eating. Can you give a rundown on his tank + temps. again ? His basking spot should be about 105, cool side about 80, but NO more than 83. No heat at night as long as your temps. don't go lower than 65. But no hotter than 75-80 at night. Do you have a new picture of him, from right above him showing his whole body ! Is he drinking....does he move around or lay around all day ? What is his poo like , and how much baby food is he eating ? A teaspoon ? More or less ?

Hi, thanks again for replying He's in a 20 gallon long basking is 105-110 Cool side is 77-80 at night his temps are 70 no lights on at night...Yes he still drinks good,he usually stays basking all day :/ only walk around when he's in my bed.his poo is green it's not runny it actually looks like jello :/ don't know if that's bad...I don't know exactly how much baby food he eats he usually licks it off my pinky that's the only way he'll eat doesn't eat with a dropper only his electrolytes and acidophiliz...I'll try to upload pictures today if not tomorrow i haven been feeling good myself kidney problem

You may want to have another fecal run. Maybe they didn't test for everything? My beardie is having as-yet-undiagnosed digestive problems and I searched the boards for information that could help. I could swear that during my research session I read that green jelly-like poo is a symptom of some intestinal ick -- giardia maybe? I will look for the thread and post it if I can locate it.

Hi Junior, he is one tough dragon with all he's been through he still looks pretty good. Yes he's on the thin side, but not extremely so. The other poster mentioned getting tested for giardia, that would be a good idea. Call your vet and ask if he's familiar with it. If you don't like the first vet he saw [ I think that one said he didn't like beardies ? ] Then look for another...or if you think the vet himself is a good one, just see if he could do the test or if he knows how to treat giardia. thank you so much for replying i would love to take him to the vet but i wont be able to afford it vet charges like 25 for fecal plus 40 just for seeing him and plus the medicine ...is there something else i can do for the moment? please Reply

Could you just bring in a sample and have them test it and give you the results? You can probably find good medicine onlinear for cheaper plus some of the more experienced owners/breeders here might actually know of a better medication then whatever the vet recommends. If they're just running a fecal float test then I don't see any reason why they'd have to see your beardie in person...

Or try a different vet. I got a fecal done for $17 and medicine that worked terffic with no side effects for $8. Meanwhile another vet in the same town wanted $25. for a fecal test.

i have no other vet around that treats reptiles and this vet always says i have to see him if not there's nothing i can do last time i ended up spending $77.00 and felt ripped off because he didn't even do anything when he saw Eragon like i could've gone without him and it wouldn't matter

Hello,

Eragon has gotten more orange. I am sorry that he still is not feeling well.
As far as the reptaid, that would be fine, it would probably boost his immune system.
Do you know if they did a fecal float? Traditionally that is what most do, but that doesn't always register everything.
I would get another fecal done & request a fecal smear as well. I agree with the above poster.
Giardia, as well as amoebas/flagelletes are a lot of times the cause of a greenish & mucousy stool. Do you use filtered water?
Do you wash the greens really well also?
The medications for the giardia would be different than for worms & parasites, too.

Hi, thank you so much for replying I'm not sure what kind of fecal they did :/ I'll try to do the fecal the only thing is money college ain't cheap and my vet isn't cheapest,what is a fecal smear? Back when he ate greens I did clean them very good.And yes I use filtered water.Besides the fecal what would be the best thing for me to do untill the fecal? Do you think he haves a lot of possibilities if making it? Please Reply
