As some of you know, Curt (my boyfriend's beardie) has been through a lot.. calcium sand impactions, repeated impactions afterward, accidentally chomping on a glass eyedropper, puking, not digesting his food.. :(

Saturday, my boyfriend informed me that Curt had again not pooped in over 2 weeks. His temperatures are perfect and his crickets are the proper size, he's active and basking so brumation was ruled out, and he's on repti carpet. We put him in the bath to see if he would go. I gave him several gentle belly rubs with no success. I gave him a couple of firmer belly rubs since the gentle ones didn't work, and a few minutes later he started to strain for what seemed like a minute and nothing came out. Finally, a rock hard urate came out that was about 2 inches long, and a LOT of poo. When he was finally done going, he started to weaken so I picked him up out of the water, and the worst happened.. he had prolapsed. :( My boyfriend immediately called the vet, and we rushed him to the vet. I grabbed the urate and was horrified to see that there was sand in it.. the sand was removed from his viv a few months ago. By the time we got to the vet, the prolapse had gone back in but his poor butt was still swollen. The vet basically told us that he needs to start eating greens (which Curt has never touched) and gave us a huge care sheet. He also fed Curt some greens and a few milliliters of squash mixed with vitamins. He is now eating mustard greens (which he loves now, even though the vet and my boyfriend had to force feed him at first). He isn't too fond of bok choy. We hope that the greens in his diet will help hydrate him and solve the issue of him not pooping. He goes back for an x-ray this weekend if he hasn't pooped by then.

Please keep Curt in your prayers. He's been through a lot and I just want him to live a normal life. :(

On my prayer list!
Does he get baths at least 3x per week? My beardie just won't eat his greens (yet!) but we bathe him often and that keeps him well hydrated :) He loves to curl up, snuggle up after a bath and go to sleep.

Maybe Curt could relax that way? Poor little guy...guess you're on the right track huh?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
