Unexplained feature!

You know the little black shoulder pad looking things on the side of a beardies neck? Well according to many books and websites this feature has no explainable use. Well I've come up with a theory for why they are there. I think they are there so that when a beardie is cold in the mornings and goes to bask those "pads" heat up the blood going through their pulmonary arteries thus making them warmer faster! :lol: Please tell me what you think!

Can't give much credence to the mating thing. When males get worked up I swear some of them have no idea what they're grabbing.

Well thank you and also I have to agree about the mating thing the males are just trying to bite anything behind the neck to keep the female there.
