Hey, just a few quick questions. With the heat wave happening in parts of the US, my cricket shipment has been delayed and I've had to change up Ridley's diet a bit. He's great at eating his greens (this week is collard, endive, and cilantro with yellow squash), and he's getting crickets from the pet store, but I also picked up some Supers to supplement the crickets as well since they are so expensive.
Anyway, when I went to clean up his poo this morning, when I smashed it (I always check it >.>) I saw some worm bits in there. His basking temps are right, and I'm sure these are super worms and not meal worms, so what could cause this? Just the change in diet? There wasn't a ton of worm in there, and I wouldn't have even noticed had I not "broke open" his poo so to speak, but I was concerned.
His diet recently has been about 1/3 each greens, crickets, and worms. That is considerably more greens then he usually eats, but he's been really enjoying his salad this week! This wormy poo also had a lot of liquid around it. Coincidence to the undigested worms, or just because of increased salad? He's also getting ready to shed his body and has been getting baths daily, so maybe he's just extra-hydrated? He's very regular in his pooing, and this one had the normal amount of urates and he didn't have any troubles passing it.
Lastly - how do I store these worms? I know I shouldn't refrigerate them like mealies, but I would like them to last a while, and they're already big. They are in bran flakes it looks like, and I gave them a big slice of apple which they devoured.
Thoughts and opinions please and thank you!
