Hi, this is my first post so please be kind - apologies if I've missed a similar thread elsewhere. I got a Beardie about 6 weeks ago. We think its a she. She was the runt of a large group given to an animal care college. She was getting picked on and when I first saw her she had a huge cut on the top of her head where one of the others had got her. She is 7months old and 13" long. She appears to be active (although I am at work during the day) appetite is healthy - about 25-40 medium crickets a day and spring greens or butternut squash, she will come out of her viv for a wander around most nights. The last couple of days however I have noticed that her waste has been runny and contain undigested greens. I have checked her temps and I think her basking spot may be a bit low - its around 36 decrees c. Cool end is around 26 degrees. I'm using a 100w MVP bulb as the heat source and uv and can't raise her spot anymore or she'll be too close to the bulb. Everything has been fine up till now, I think that wit the colder weather, our flat has cooled and it's having trouble getting up to temp. It was abou 40 degrees during the warmer weather. I understand it could also be parasites so another question - anybody got experience with a North London herp vet? I'm in Enfield.
Thanks for any help!

Hi - thanks for replying. I've found a vet who is local(ish) and am ready to take her for a fecal and a general exam. If it carries on abnormal I'll take her soon as possible but it may be ok in which case I'll take her in another week or so. It'll be good to get a general bill of health for her. Its been a couple of days now, and her poo tonight looked a bit drier (although it was pretty dried anyway as I didn't see it until I got in from work). There didn't seem to be any undigested stuff in it, but there wasn't very much of it. Urates looked OK. Night before there was a big orange sack of undigested squash. Scared the hell out of me unti I realised what it was! Tonight she hardly ate anything. Just 5 crix and 2 baby dubia roaches (I've just started to breed them and these are the first she's had). She's right in the middle of a shed and spent the entire night with a jet black beard staring me out - grumpy as anything! She stopped eating the first week I got her and she was almost completely grey then as she was about to shed. Just when I thought she'd finished shedding with only the top of her leg to go her back and front legs went grey again! I'm wondering if the stress of a full viv clean out and being ready to shed might have caused it? I cleaned her viv out completely the day before it all started. With a bit of luck she'll be more cheery tomorrow. I'm worried I'm being a bit overprotective but it's been 25 years since I've had a pet and I adore her!

Just thought I'd give a quick update - it appears it may have just been stress. The day after showing black she dropped a large one with squash in, which I'd fed her two days before. I'm assuming constipation was making her grizzly! Since then everything has been completely back to normal. I'll still get a check up done when I can get the time to visit the vet but (fingers crossed) it all seems ok for now!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
