under tank heaters

Okkk so i live in neavda it gets darn right cold here in the winter . :shock: So I am trying to get prepared for my lil beardie.
So yesterday i got an undertank heater.. needless to say this sucker gets way way to hot .. My temp gauge says its getting like 105 ouch . . What on earth can i do to reduce the heat ? any ideas? maybe add tiles over the top of it?
anyone else have this problem?
Or should i just get rid of the thing all together and go a different route?

they make dimmers that you can plug an appliance in and dim it. I just use tile and that absorbs most the heat.

Undertank heaters are not a good idea. Beardies sense heat from above and could get burned on their belly and not know it.

i could see them getting burnt if you didnt monitor the temps. thats why i said its not on because it was getting way to hot.. i just want it for night use and to have it at about 80 degrees to keep him warm. I cant see it at 80 degress could burn him when he sits in 110 in his basking spot.....Here in Nevada it gets like 10 degrees..
