Under tank heater on plastic table?

This is actually a question about something for my leopard geckos, not my beardies...heh. But anywhoo...I recently bought them an under-tank heater and I am reluctant to just slap it on and start it up because of the table that their tank is on being plastic...I can't switch tables, so are there any ways to elevate the tank+heating pad (and I mean higher than those little feet that come with the UTH would elevate it) so that it doesn't sit against the table?

You could buy a 2x4 and have the store cut it in half then rest the tank on that so it will get enough height not to melt the plastic table, but still be stable. Hope that helps.
