Hey everyone. First, I'd suggest taking a deep breath. Keep in mind that there is no absolute way of caring for beardies. While there are some consistent recommendations you will see almost everywhere, there are many that vary. I've seen the opinions on this site change over time even. In all honesty, I think people should share their views, then trust and support the decisions people have to make for their own beardies. Of course, true neglect and abuse not included in that.
Rather than just rant and say this is all wrong, why not turn this topic into something more productive. Provide some constructive criticism by saying specific things you do not agree with, offering your alternative and why.
I did just watch the video. It's not all bad. There are things that I personally would suggest different things (wood chips are one I would suggest people not use and go with reptile carpet or tile as an alternative... I actually have a few alternative suggestions depending on age and circumstances). The water fountain has pros and cons as well. If it can be done without raising humidity too much, it's a great way to ensure a beardie drinks (many will not drink from still water and let themselves get dehydrated).
Anyway... I just thought I'd try to curb some of the outrage and negativity a little. I am sure the video is geared towards selling products (that enclosure was a bit excessively filled with stuff, I felt), but they ARE a reptile supplier after all. So, I do suggest being civil with your disagreement and use it as an opportunity to share what you think should be done differently and why.
We all have views on what is safe or not. But in the end we are each responsible for making what we feel is the right decision for our pets.
Cheers,
-Alex
