Unattended for 5 Minutes (video!)

This is Moose:

Moose enjoys making people laugh; he likes to bask, eat greens, and he loooves to poop on his basking log. Oh, and he knows how annoying that is. He poops on it, I wash it off with the hose, bake it, and 2 hours later, he gets his log back. It's been this way since the beginning of time. To help the process, I place fresh paper towel on his log daily. He poops in the morning, I switch towels, and it's clean until tomorrow. I decide it was time to try and leave the log bare after he poops- just for one day. I'm sure it will be fine, I mean, for weeks, he's only pooped in the morning...

Well the same day I decide to leave his log bare... I decide it would be fun to see what he does when I'm not in the room. Yeah. Guess what I caught on video Leave the captions on, and enjoy a good laugh

I still can't believe he did that, and to think I got this moment on camera :? I don't know how I got so lucky lol. I was cracking up the first time I saw the video... I had to cut out my reaction from the end :lol:

I took this morning's poo and placed it somewhere else in the viv. Maybe he'll learn to do it somewhere else. I've got no problem leaving towel in their for him to use, but stuff does seep through it... and it's easier to clean vinyl flooring than it is to clean wood... Believe me, I've tried, he doesn't like to poo in his bath :?

Loved the Video , also im curious and i hope you can help me , i have a zilla slimline t8 50 uvb tube light , it has holes on the back for hangers , i saw your uvb was mounted inside his enclosure, could you tell me how you did that? i'd really like to get my light inside my boy's cage , do i just get like.. suction cup hangers or like , sticky hanger things maybe from lowes? i've been puzzled over this for a while and i really want to provide the best for my beardie , hes about a month and a half old i've had him for about 2 weeks now and hes doing great but the uvb he has is laying over a screen top , and i want it inside like your's if you could help me out i'd appreciate it , pm me if you can

@Tirfup, I'll PM you, it's real simple.

Well I've been trying to get him to use a different place in the viv... I put some paper towel under his hammock, with poo from the last few days spread on it. Well, I caught him right before he starting to poop (on the log, obviously) picked him up and put him on the new poopie spot.... the second he hit the towel he ran back to the log and it shot out while he was running back up to the top. Perhaps I should just give up on this endeavor, he really likes to poop on his basking spot. Anybody have any other ideas on how to potty train him?

Don't spread poop on his poop spot. They tend to poop and run away from it cause they are that smart. Do the exact same thing you did without the poop spread. Also give him warm baths every day. It works great on making them poop. Keep the water warm till he poops. Works for Jericho and keeps them hydrated
