Whoa, hold on there.
Even the regular flourescent bulbs contain Mercury.
You really don't want to break them if you don't have to (and they should go to a real recycle place).
If the electrical contacts have somehow been fused to the fixture or parts of the fixture have melted
around the contacts, then you most likely shouldn't be using that fixture anyway. They aren't supposed to do that
If that's really the case, I personally would throw it away and get a new one. You can get T8 types cheap at walmart for $9.00 or so.
