I'm really struggling to find staple greens for my BD. I've tried supermarkets and the internet. I can not find mustard greens, turnip greens etc. anywhere. At the moment my BD greens are spring greens but this contains cabbage etc. that arent staple.

Can anybody direct me to a place that sells them?

I'm from Manchester UK.

Thank you.

I wish we had a good chart with items readily available in the UK. Perhaps one of the other UK members will chime in with some ideas but I suggest using rocket, green beans, and different kinds of squash depending on what you can find.

I know we really do need a UK chart. I know what staple greens he should have everyday but they just aren't available here in the UK. I alternnate between spring greens, cabbage, kale, chicory, pak choi, rocket and watercress and then add a small amount of parsnip or butternut squash. Once a week I will give him a half a fig or some papaya (he loves that). I just wish I had more nutritional greens to give him! I bought some dry dandelion mix from my local reptile store but he won't touch that!

That actually sounds pretty good. Lots of variety there. Variety is the key to a good diet rather than any one specific type of green/veg.

I'm from Belgium, and I had the same problem. In the end I settled on endive and butternut squash as staples (though I won't be able to get butternut in summer), and I mix it up with all kinds of stuff (zucchini, carrot, apple, bell pepper, chicory, basil...). I would like a European version of the beautiful dragon nutrition list (we just can't get things like collard greens here)...

Thanks for your comments. I was worried I wasn't giving him enough of the recommended staples but it seems it's just a common problem outside of the US. He seems happy enough on what I give him.

Have you looked for frozen mustard or turnip greens? I always have a bag or two in the freezer just in case I can't find any fresh. I put some in a bowl with a tiny bit of water and nuke them for 30 seconds.

Otherwise, your diet seems fine.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
