UGH!!!! Fluker Farms crickets!!!!!

I sure wish Id never bought from them! I just ordered 1000 1/2 inch crickets and received a box with at least 100 dead, and all but about 20 of them were 1/4 inch or smaller!!! With 7 bearded dragons, those will be gone in a couple of days! I emailed and complained, and their response was to send out 500 more... which is fine, but it's the principle of the thing. I was also told in an email that their cricket sizes vary.... uh... yeah... that's why we're given the option on the website to CHOOSE the size we need/want?

SO apparently.... if you order from them, regardless of the size you choose, they'll send you whatever they FEEL like sending you.... and dont bother complaining... they dont CARE!

Anyone have a better choice for cricket purchases for me? Im trying to give my roach colony a chance to grow more.

also not a fan of Fluker Farms. i don't like the cleaner bug infestation that comes with the shipments. never had a problems with DOA arrivals though. crickets are expensive, aren't they?!

Yes they are, and I agree about the cleaner bugs! There were a ton in my order!

I also now refuse to order from them, try the feeders inc site and look for a suppler near you. A little work finding the suppliers nearest you and It should be easy to beat the fluker price and quality.

Oh, I'm so sorry this happened. HUGE frustration I'm sure. I know there are many other vendors. I hope you find one that can give you what you actually need.

Strangely, we had the opposite happen with Flukers. I was reticent to order from them because I'd seen this kind of post before but they offered the best price for a small order, which I needed. I ordered 250 1/2 inch and they sent me well over 6 or 7 hundred (assuming they send extra in case of die off). Most were 1/2 inch as I'd ordered, but some were 3/8 which was fine also. I've also had very little die off, at least so far. I'm on my third order and usually have them sent 2nd day as it's a bit cheaper.

I suppose it might depend on who [at Flukers] is executing the order? I was actually annoyed at first when they sent me more than I ordered because I wasn't prepared for it. Since, it's been more like 350-400 which I can manage a little better, and with only one dragon will last a good bit.

Counting myself as one of the lucky Fluker "orderers" I suppose. :?

I had ordered from them 3 times too - it was this last order that really upset me. There had been some die off on the other orders, but not this extensive, and most of the crickets were the right size. This time, they were TINY LOL.

I hope you continue to have good luck with them! I was just stunned at their attitude when I complained about it.

I know what you mean. I know it's the good quality that really counts (which you have not found with Flukers), but I tend to judge companies by their customer service. If someone I call or email seems friendly and helpful, I am more inclined to buy from the company.

Personally, I have had decent experiances with Flukers. Not great, but not bad either.

Sounds like my latest order of phoenix worms... went for the 1000 PW deal but the only deal was most of my "mediums" were smalls and x-smalls. Dragon has had to eat upwards of 70-80 in sitting to feel like she's had a meal. :roll: Thankfully, PW.com is always pretty nice about things.

Indeed, I can't believe they gave you attitude. That would have been the clincher for me as well. *sigh*

Ghanns is a pretty good place to order crickets from, but the shipping might cost a bit since if you arent near to georgia, for me since i live in South Carolina, the overnight shipping was only 10 bucks, 1 dollar more than the 2 day shipping.

I switched from my local petstore to mulberry farms due to getting a bad batch of crickets we had over half of the 1k crickets die withen a few days (i wonder if they get there crickets from their) :shock: I ordered my shipment on monday and still havnt got my crickets and today is friday. So im not so sure i like them either.... my beardies are totaly out now so ill have to go fork out 20 bucks for 300 to tide them over....

I highly recommend Ghann. I've used several different online source in the past and Ghann is the only one I never had a problem with. Not to say it couldn't happen but it seems they take more care with their crickets.

I order my crickets from Ghann, but I don't order phoenix worms from them anymore. It's not just them - I've never gotten fresh, wiggly PWs from anyone other than the original breeders, so I get crix from Ghann and PWs from phoenixworms.com
