Two Weeks Barely Eating

Hi All
Have my Bearded Dragon two weelks now, and I'm guessing he's around 8weeks old. Since he's been in his new home I've only seen him eat once, a cricket. I'm fairly sure he's eaten 1 or 2 more when I'm not around. The thing is he doesn't leave his hide when I'm around. I've put crickets in and left them in so that he can eat when I leave but he still doesn't seem to eat.

For example, Yesterday evening I took all crickets out, a little later I put two "fresh" crickets in. I left them so that he could eat when I wasn't there, in case he is nervous in my presence. Checked this morning one in Viv, other in hide with him! What I have started doing the last few days is taking away hide and handling him a bit. Same time I'm drip feeding him water from my finger which he is taking some of. Try hand feeding cricket he freezes up. I also put veg in daily but doesn't seem to touch it. I know it can be normal not to eat much, but it seems he is not eating at all, getting worried he might starve. Wondering if I should now leave him without any crickets or anything for 1-2days then put 1-2 in? Please someone offer some advice.

PS: I did find some shedded skin during the week.

you should never leave crix in overnight, they are nasty little things and nibble the dragon while he sleeps! It may still be relocation stress, but have you tried putting him in a seperate container to feed. Just adding them one at a time also helps so he dosnt get overwhelmed!

Hey thanks for the reply

Yes I've just red they are little nasty critters, think one actually started nibbling on my arm yesterday while I had my hand in the Viv. What I might start doing is make the Viv smaller for now, it's 4foot long, put one cricket in and hopefully he'll devour it. Then if that works up the number, and eventually open up the space a bit. He may feel safer in the smaller space. I may have to look around for another source of crickets as well because twice now the ones the pet store gave me seem like they may be a little big.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
