Two shedding questions.

All right, I have two questions for you guys.

1) Jasper's tail has been getting progressively darker over the past few weeks. It is still soft and pliable. Could this be a retained shed? He shed the upper part of his tail a few weeks back, but he didn't shed the tip.

A few weeks ago, shedding part of his tail:

Is a vet visit in order?


2) Jasper is currently shedding his whole torso. I've been giving him baths daily and massaging him. Yesterday, and then again this morning, he puffed up his whole body.

Is that normal? Is he trying to get the shed off? Any help would be appreciated!

to ur first question i wouldnt worry tooo much cuz they shed diff parts at diff times and from the pic it looks like it should come off soon id say if it dont come off in the next 2 weeks go to the vet but just keep up the warm soaks and make sure his tail is in the water

to ur next question im pretty sure puffing is normal cuz roo did it too when he was shedding i think they expand their skin to the full to crack the skin off..

i hope i helped you to not worry too much oh also if ur worried bout his tail tip massage some olive oil into it that may help but dont put him back in his viv with oil on him cuz he wil burn

I'll try the olive oil. My poor baby looks so uncomfortable.

not a prob just let the oil soak in for a bit then wipe it off make sure there is none left then put him back
