Tricky Question about a homemade enclosure

I'm building a enclosure for BD's and the sides and back are going to be plywood because melamine is to expensive. I was thinking about painting or using a clear sealant on the plywood so it can withstand moisture and all that. What's ya'lls opinions, ideas, and recommendations.

Ha Ha I feel stupid cause all I had to do is go to Lowe's for the answer. This is what a lady in the paint department at Lowe's told me. First use one coat of Olympic primer zero VOC and then a coat of Olympic interior semigloss paint. Little to zero VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) is important cause VOC is the measurement of like the amount of fumes and/or toxins the primer or paint puts into the air around it. Use interior paint cause it has little to zero VOC and I chose semigloss cause it stands up to scrubbing better than flat paint. Also they said the lighter or closer to white the color is the fewer VOC's it has. I hope this help some people with the same question.

I used regular polyurethane on the inside of my enclosure. I even used 3 coats on the bottom to make it easy to clean. Once it's completely dry it will be fine. I let mine dry for 2 weeks. The cage is well ventilated too so I really dont think its a problem as long as it has ample time to dry.

I used the stone textured paint on sides and back white kitchen & bathroom paint on the top for light reflection.
I sealed it all with mini-wax polycrylic seal 3 coats.
This stuff dries hard and is easy to clean.
Word of caution though you will need at least 2 weeks of curing time b4
all the fumes are gone.
btw my 4x2x2 was made of 3/4 " sanded plywwod 39.00 sheet at lowes...

On the inside - we used contact paper for the walls... cleans great...and when we're tired of seeing it we can switch it out. The floors we used the stick on type of tile --- also easy to clean and change out if desired.

The outside is stained.

We have 3 of them stacked on top of each other -- they are 4 X 2 X 2. I'm looking for some interior decoration ideas --- we have a couple of landscaping stones in each for them to bask on for now.

We need to put the finishing touches on the front.... not that the beardies mind -- but I can't make up my mind what kind of trim I would like to use. I'm also thinking of putting a 4" base under the bottom one to lift it off of the floor.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
