Travel Vivarium!!

Hi I am new to the forum and just got my first beardie last week, and i was just wondering what I would do for a sort of travel vivarium. I stay at my dads house every second weekend and would like to take AJ along with me to make sure he gets the correct husbandry required for a baby. But I just dont want to dismantle and reassemble my vivarium every time i go, Is there an alternative portable vivarium i could use for the 2/3 days?

There are a few things you can try. Since he's a little guy, probably using something like a large clear rubbermaid bin would work best since it would contain him. I've had good luck using a kids play pen but they can climb the mesh sides easily. Lately I just bring a mercury vapor lamp with an adjustable lamp stand and no container but that's for an adult and he is kept in closed off rooms (and is used to roaming freely). I think your best bet is a big clear plastic bin and an adjustable lamp stand holding a dome fixture with a 100w MegaRay mercury vapor bulb set at about 12'' up above the basking spot.

If you travel to the same place regularly, you could also set up a copy of his regular enclosure. It would minimize stress and make it so you don't have to travel with an enclosure but it would be more permanent.

I've used 100L tubs as rearing tubs , they are good size for a travel viv too even for an adult dragon.
