Travel Enclosure Ideas Plz

We travel everywhere with our beardie and have used a variety of temporary enclosures over the years, none of which have been easy or that satisfactory. As summer travel approaches, I am looking for something portable, that I can house in for a week at a time, and that I can rest the light domes on. I can't find the reptarium mesh cages anywhere and it appears they're aren't making them anymore. They seemed possible since they allowed for a tall or long orientation. These zoo med cages http://www.bigappleherp.com/Zoo-Med-Repti-Breeze-Aluminum-Screen-Cages look very nice but only orient tall and are suited for arboreal lizards only.

I am not afraid to try and construct something myself but time is running a bit short. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I use this: http://m.target.com/p/sterilite-clearview-latch-110-qt-27-5-gal-storage-bin-purple/-/A-13794501

It's big but lightweight - it fits in my trunk and we pack other stuff into it so its not really taking up much space. A 36" aquarium hood fits over it nicely for trips long enough to need UVB, and I just clamp onto the side with the zoomed dome for heat. I keep flat basking surfaces - he hopped out once when I used a tall rock. I don't use the lid, but I'm sure you could cut most of your and replace it with screen.

Thanks for your reply, Tater. That may work if I can cut out the sides/top and attach screen. You're right it is bulky but we could use it to store things for the ride. I am a bit worried about plastic and heat- I'm a freak about off-gassing chemicals.

I use a 40g breeder with a mesh top that I picked up at Petco during the dollar a gallon sale. I take the lights and timers with me and store everything inside the tank during travel. I can usually find something to clamp the basking light to and just rest the 18'' UVB fixture on top of the mesh.

I don't find the plastic to get hot at all, but it's a valid concern for sure.

This is what i use. Just a big plastic tubberware box and cut a hole in the lid. Made the light frame out of pvc and a little bit of wood to clamp on the light. I use a metal coat hanger to attach the reptisun light inside the enclosure. The pvc light holder breaks down and the whole setup fits in the box to travel. Its not a very spacious cage but it works for a short trip.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
