I work at a pre-school/day care and the director asked me if I would want to bring my dragon in for a day when the weather is warmer. when ever I bring Chaos in she will teach about reptiles for the pre-school class that week. I am all for the idea. The kids have seen pics of Chaos and I want them to be able to see her in real life. Get to see first hand that she isn't some mean scary beast like many people may think!
I have 2 questions though.
Any one know where I could find a travel cage for her with out spending a lot? Or would a rubbermade container work just as well for her? Thinking getting a decent size rubbermade container and cutting the top and putting in mesh so she has plenty of air circulation.
She would be with me from approx. 11am-5:30 pm before she would be back home. Once the weather warms up would she be o.k with out her heat , basking and UV lights? I live in PA so we will be waiting untill the weather is warmer. There really isnt a spot where I could take all her heat & lights and have it all plugged in where I could safely keep an eye on her. I could probably take one heat/light sorce. Thinking the basking light would be best choice? Since she can bask and still have some heat, unlike her ceramic heat where she wouldnt have the light.
Thoughts?

It's insect/bug week this week at pre-school so I am taking in super worms and crickets for the kids to see today.

She should be fine for a day out as long as the temps are 65+. You could even get a 10hour heat pack or something for the rubbermaid container. As far as taking one of the lights, I would take the basking light as well.

I take my dragons out in a dog carrier one of those that looks like a sports bag, I put handwarmers and a blanket in there and my dragon is just fine.

it has mesh so it can see out of,fleece lined and I can take it into a store without them realizing its not a dog lol.

I say it because I have 4 dragons 1 male 3 females

I've smuggled my youngest to work w/ me..shhh dont tell my Sergeant...She was touch and go for awhile so I didnt want to leave her home. I work midnights @ a PD so I put her in a lined basket w/ a hot water bottle and handwarmers along w/ her blankies to keep her toasty. Luckily I can work w/ the lights off so it didnt disturb her beauty sleep

As far as during the day a tote w/ a clamp lamp would work. Or maybe a small animal carrier w/ the mesh top that opens?

I have take Yaddle with me out for hours a lot of times, as long as the weather wasn't too cold out. If I am the one that is driving then I have her in a little mini carrier so she can't get into trouble while I'm driving. But once we get to where we are going I just make sure she wears her harness and leash and I carry her on my shoulder.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
