Too much light or not enough?

Quick question about lighting, and I apologize if it's been covered a million times...I have searched and I'm still confused.

The setup I'm putting together will be a 40 gallon breeder in a room that will have between 65-70 degree ambient temperature (at least through the upcoming winter, possibly a little higher in the summer) and I was wondering if a 100w MegaRay SB would be sufficient for UVB and for heat?
I'm thinking I might want a smaller (12" or 18") ReptiSun 10 for the opposite side of the viv because the light from the MegaRay might not reach all the way across the 48" length. I'm hoping heat won't even be an issue, from what I'm reading I can adjust the height of the MegaRay to get a good basking temp on one side of the viv.
I guess it's just the "cooler" side I'm worried about, heat wise and light wise.

i have 100 watt megaray mvb in a 40 breeder. it keeps the temps just around 79 on the cool and 96 on the hot, i added a 60 watt white bulb and the temps are perfect!

Forgot to ask, how do you have your lamps setup? do you have them at either ends? or somewhere around the middle of the tank?

i bought a bright white light at walmart just to bump the temps up a little bit. beardies need bright white light to thrive.

well with your size tank i would really talk to bob at reptile uv... he's soo knowledgeable and maybe he could help you pick out a bulb thats right for you. i've never been happier than with my mvb and i truly dedicate a lot of nesta's health to it...

nesta looked like a rock for a while and right after i got the mvb she blew up with color!!! it could be something else but i definitely attribute a lot of her health to that light!
