Too close to UVB?

Hello! I am in process of setting up my 40 G breeder for my baby beardie. I got my new reptisun 10.0 today, and hung it in his 20 G until I get the other one set up (hopefully tomorrow). Since the 20 gallon is smaller, the reptisun is very close to his basking spot. Once we got it in there, he immediately moved to the other side of his log and go very close to it (within about 3"). Is this ok for now, or should he not be so close to the bulb?

I've had him for over a month now, and he's been on a coil UVB (who knew it would be so blasted hard to find a reptisun in a local store??).

Cheers!

He's probably happy to get better UV to bask in. You will want to try and see if you can get that extra 3" if you can. A couple days may not be a problem especially if he doesn't keep getting so close. The bulbs are most intense very close to them, and can cause eye damage.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
