Toe nail coming out...

So I used to use a towel as Rocky's enclosure floor, and it worked great. Until I assume he pulled his nail getting caught in the towel. So I've gotten rid of the towel and now I'm back to the Repticarpet with paper towels over top (for easier feces clean up). The nail has some blood but he doesn't seem to be in pain at all. I've touched it multiple times and he doesn't react. I just bought some raw honey to help to heal it (that's why it's shiny looking now).

Also should I be cutting his toe nails? I know people do it and maybe I'm naive but I wasn't sure if it's something we should we doing regularly.

I'm just wondering if I should continue doing the honey and if I should have any other concerns?

Towel isn't the best bedding , you've found that out the hard way.

Keep the honey up on the injured toe (nail), it'll help keep it from getting infected.

I use small bird nail scissors to trim all mine's toe nails , only take the pointy last 2 oer 3 mm off , and do this a few times a year.
IMO those nails don't look like they need trimming to me, I'd leave them be a few more months or until they are obviously too long or getting too pointy.
