Hi all,

I know this section is for beardies, but this is rather urgent.

I've just found a toad that's had his arm trodden on. What do i need to nurse him back to health? Can't find much on the internet, and the RSPCA apparently doesn't work weekends! I'm in england btw. Umm, i could do with living conditions, food, and any supplements he'll need.

Thanks,

Any help will be appreciated GREATLY.

Nikki (and timmy the toad)

They are the frog/toad people!! I have 3 Whites Tree frogs and one is ill that I am currently medicating with antibiotics. Hopefully this site will help you a little more! Good luck with the toad!

Hello Nikki,

Oh poor toad! I hope he is going to be ok. Did you find some information for him yet?
Do you have a tank for him?

Hi Tracie!!

I don't have a tank for him as of yet, but we're hoping to get one tommorrow. I do have some information, but if you have any i'd be really greatful. Also i'm really concerned about his little arm. He doesn't appear to be able to use it, but he has feeling in it. I'm not sure if it's just muscle/skin sticking out or bone, i hope it's the first. I spoke to someone on another forum (the one mentioned above) and they said they had a similar situation where someone had stood on a toads back leg, he said to wait until the leg shrivels up and it will fall off. I'd like to give him some antibiotics because i'm worried about him getting an infection. Also any probiotics that I can give him would be great. I don't want to try anything in case i get it wrong.

Thanks Tracie

Nikki

Hello Nikki,

I am sorry that he passed away so quickly before you could get him more help. There must have been other injuries, perhaps internal that you did not know about.

I am sorry for your loss. Frogs and toads are hard to help once they get sick. I have a sick White Tree frog right now that I have been treating with antibiotics (took her to the vet and everything!) and she only improved slightly. Once antibios stopped...she got worse again. This has been going on for almost a month now.

At the same time this was happening, my new baby tomato frog passed away with no explanation. Once they get sick...it seems really hard to try to fix them. Especially since there are not too many vets who have direct experience with frogs. I am still giving my all for my little girl!! Picking up more antibios tomorrow to restart treatment again!! (at $75 a bottle).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
