Prerogative our oldest loves baths I turned around a second to get a towel and he was floating and took him out but he wouldn't wake up his head was out of the water and after rubbing him dry and between his eyes he woke up with a black beard and very limp within twenty mind he was fine and running around could the have been a stroke??

Sorry for the terrible spelling and grammar but I'm on my phone

Thank you

I wouldn't guess stroke. How warm was the water? How deep was the water? If a beardie feels uncomfortable in water, and the water level is higher then shoulder level or if something had made him feel more uneasy then they can puff up, close their eyes and hope for the best. Des used to do this to me, first time I got pretty scared. After he deflated himself he would have a black beard too. This is the most knowledge I have with this, so hopefully we get more insight or alternative causes.

Although baths are helpful for a dehydrated dragon or one having trouble shedding, it's very, very risky. Just look around the forums, in the last week or so there are at least 4 water related emergencies. They don't bathe in the wild, and when we bath them it should be 1-2 times a week at most,[ or when they get dirty] because it's not natural. The black beard was a sure sign of extreme distress...your dragon may have swallowed or breathed in water, and it could have ended up worse. But I'm glad he made it !! Always completely supervise a dragon in the water. Many dragons cough and choke after a bath, showing the potential for drowning, and several threads at this very moment on the forums have accounts of sick dragons that died shortly after a bath. Spraying is a great alternative to daily baths....just do so gently on the head and they learn to drink as the water trickles down their mouth.

We bath our beardies once a month or as needed it wasn't all that deep up to his Elbows maybe a little more and warm to the touch but not hot. He is usually pretty good in water and I would look at the other threads if I was on the computer but thanks for answering a few of my questionable and he is back to normal and eating at the moment and ill keep a eye on him. And also plan on taking him to the vet in tjw next couple of days

*edit*
Leeroy is doing great the last couple of days, he is eating well, 8-10 crix and a salad and a couple super worms depending. . . he seems to be doing much better he is running around alot too, the only difference i see in him the last couple of days is he is constantly head bobbing, but even that is starting to die down.
Thanks for the help guys it is truely appreciated.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
