To mist or not to mist? That is my question.

Congrats on some beardie lovin Megan! My Ziggy likes to pancake on me at bedtime, after he's run around on the couches for a bit, and get covered up. Then, he falls asleep. I love it! Yours is doing it so much sooner than mine did. Lucky you!

When i fisrt tried to mist my dragon she wasnt happy and just ran away from the spray. so what i do is take a baby dropper and drop it on her nose until she sticks her tongue out, and then i drip it onto her tongue. i do this every time after i feed her. this way i know she is getting water. every now and then i give her a warm bath and scrub her with a soft tooth brush to loosen up old skin, and rehydrate it.

my guys dont mind being misted they lick their lips lol

i dont have to worry about humidity b/c humidity in my room on average is about 10% so it is already very low

Ooh, good idea AK3! Maybe lightly scrubbing with a toothbrush will help stimulate shedding.

My beardie HATES BATH !!! I feel so bad when i put her in the tub.. she just looks at me and im like "i know baby i know.. but you have to... i hated bath when i was your age too " lol. But you gotta do some tough love sometimes !!
But as far as misting.. not sure how much she loves it.. but i mist her a few times a day (like 5 -10).. and when i do.. she sticks her head up and closes her eyes and stay in place .. she doesnt try to run away or anything.. so i guess she likes it ? until she freaks out.. shes gonna get her daily mist ! lol

OH and just for the record.. a CAMERA is a MUST for bath time ! I've given MJ a bath like 10 time since i've had her (a month).. and each bath time is something new ! lol

Awesome! Thanks, guys. Krishna is adjusting to her new home nicely... but with all the moving she did before, it'll take some time for her to realize this is her forever-home. She is the most exciting thing that's happened to me in years, and I can't get over how lucky I am to have her (or him - seems like she's always changing her mind on what gender she wants to be). Would you mind citing your source for this? The reason i ask is that there are different views on this:

"Bearded dragons do get most of the moisture they need from their foods, for cells, organs and overall health, but areas that are air exposed directly such as skin, scales and membranes like the ear and nose will suffer with problems when humidity is under 40% for prolonged period of time. At 40-55% you do not have fungus living or growing, under that you do have dried membranes and shed problems that create skin tags which are breeding grounds for fungi. Contrary to what some advice, you are creating the problems your trying to avoid by depriving them of water and humidity."

Hry all! I just wanted to thank you for this great idea. I put my beardie in the bath, put some water on his nose, he licked it and dropped his mouth into the water and started drinking seriously for like a minute. And boy was he fat after! LOL.

I swear it was like watching a video of Megan's experience.
