to expect or not to expect

so hello all!!

i'm sorry its been a lonnnnng while! I've missed you guys! Phoenix is down for his brumation (sucky) and Juuji just woke up from hers (yea shes on austrillia time) anyway, Juuji is my female. she want bought for breeding purposes, but to be my pet with that being said she and my male have never had interaction, aside from the occasional i see you from across the room thing. so she turned one back in march of this year... now that shes awake i'm just curious if i should be expecting her to lay eggs? :study: i know sometimes they will and sometimes they wont... i guess i'm just looking for a little reassurance... in case she starts showing signs i do have a box and sand and all that stuff ready to rock, i'm just curious how many of yall's females lay eggs thier first year...

It possible, but not all females lay infertile eggs. Its kinda a thing you just have to learn about your dragon - whether or not she lays infertile eggs often or not.

It is a possibility, and it won't hurt to have a lay box in there, but I don't think you need it until you start seeing actual signs, like restlessness, a bigger belly, etc.

Digi started laying infertiles a few months short of her second birthday. I remember reading a few who had their females start earlier. I guess it all depends on the genetics.

the first female I bred this year was her first time. She laid her first clutch of 16 eggs 2 weeks to the day of breeding and i had 1 stillhatch (probably not a word) and 1 set of twins and 15 individuals, the second clutch of 22 eggs was laid 17 days after the first, resulting in 22 hatched babies.

I would personally expect fertile clutch.

my dragons seem to be on aussie time as well, i think it's because my wife is a big time AC fan.

thank you for the welcome back! okay i'll just keep that stuff handy for incase, so far no signs. yall know how i get though, i hate the uncertianty although i adore my babies!!
