I'll definitely check on line, but I'll probably just end up getting it from petsmart today.
I don't want my poor guy to have to wait that long.

And thanks for all your guys' info! It really helps a lot!! :)

Our PetSmart doesn't even carry the ReptiSun. In fact, our PetSmart doesn't have one single useful UVB bulb in their entire store. No MVBs, no good tubes, just coils, compacts and ReptiGlo 10.0's. They do happen to carry lots of baby beardeds though, most of which probably go home with one of those suspect bulbs. Like well, WE did. :( Sorry, *end of rant*

Sarbear - Hope you're able to find an affordable ReptiSun in town. We have a local store that carries one, but like I mentioned, it comes VERY dear (as in YIKES! ). If you do have to order and wait, just keep the basking bulb burning. Beardies can do just fine without UVB temporarily. Once installed, it will take some time to get the appetite up and going again if it happens to drop off, but you will usually see the activity and alertness pick up within hours. We had a compact on our girl, and there was about a 8-9 day gap in UVB while we waited, and well, she is a robust and healthy one year old now so... no worries. (I understand your wanting to address right away though, I truly do!) :)

Best of luck!

Well, I thought we carried the tubes at Petsmart, turns out we only carry the coils. My friend in Petcare told me that the reptiglo is just as good as the reptisun, but if I truly believed it wasn't, to get the coil.
I was like..um yeah I'll come in later to get it...
Then I got in my car, drove to Petco, and picked up a tube reptisun 10.0 :)

Good news:
I noticed a difference in my beardies activity and alertness after removing that god damn (excuse my language, haha) plastic cover on my UVB light.
And noticed an even BIGGER difference after I switched out the reptiglo 5.0 with the reptisun 10.0 :)
As a matter of fact, when I switched the UVB lights out, he was basking on his rock, now, only about 10 minutes after switching the lights, he's under his UVB light :D
Yay!

Thanks for your response though Embee :)

Great news! Indeed, nothing like some good quality UVB to lift beardie's spirits.

The best,

I agree :)
I'm so glad I got this problem fixed sooner rather then later.
Hopefully Howie can start thriving now that I'm learning the proper way to take care of him.
It's just to bad he's had to suffer all this time :(

just to let you know I did the same thing. In fact, maybe one worse. I didn't even have a acrylic cover on my light. I placed the fixture over a pane of glass that was built into the hood I used at first (was built for a fish tank) So yeah... They got nifty blu-ish light and zero UVB for a while and I had NO IDEA why they weren't eating as much as everyone on here said they should at that age. Took the glass away and BAM General has grown from 6" to a hefty 16" in the few months we've had him!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
