Tired of the fighting

Hi everyone,

I have found that lately, too many people are jumping on and fighting everything that research from the members of this site have established as being the safest things for our great pets. I can't tolerate it. So many people rag on advise for lighting, substrate, and number of dragons in a tank. I can't understand why anyone would fight the results that have been seen time and time again from these members. A simple search yields all of these results, or by looking at the locked permanent threads at the top of each topic. Can we keep this forum about our pets and their best care, and stop worrying about our wallets. If you don't like the advice given, don't fight about it, just don't listen and do your own thing. The language also has me upset. Why is it necessary?

Please let me know that I'm not crazy. :| I've been watching these boards for a few months and have not seen any thing like this.

Yea I agree too. Everyone is here to help eachother. There are a lot of experienced and highly educated owners and breeders on here and the last thing that should ever be done is disrespecting their advice and opinions. I personally know all that I do know about beardies and their care I got from here and it it weren't for that I would hate to see where I would be.

I guess unfortunately a bad apple shows up every once in a while but thank god we have moderators to keep this the friendly and helpful forum it is.

I hate to say it.. But thats how these kinds of sites are.. Im not saying anything about the site or anyone in particular. But there is always going to be pet owners or in this case, a beardie owner who thinks their care for their bearded dragon(s) is better then all the rest. It's just how it is.

Unfortunately, 2 particular threads had to be locked and moved out of public viewing. We try our best to keep the forum calm and everyone "playing nice" but there are so many different personalities that makes it just about impossible at times. All the moderators and the Administrator (Alex) would like to remind others to use the "report abuse" button to make us aware of the problems rather than posting in a problem thread which only causes things to escalate, that will also help to prevent more members from getting into trouble.

The forum is to help beardies and their owners and we don't want anyone to be afraid to post for fear of being attacked or belittled in any way. So, if you have any problems or concerns, feel free to contact any of us by private message, that's what we're here for, to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease about asking for advice. :wink:

Some warnings and temporary bans were issued tonight regarding those 2 problems threads so hopefully things will be calmer now. Thanks for understanding and being a part of this great forum.

While I agree that one of those threads was going nowhere but downhill, I don't think I deserved the warning. I simply told the kid in there that he needed to a lot of growing up. Nothing I said was wrong, rude, or out of line at all. When somebody "asks for help" and then tells everybody not to tell him what to do, that person does need to grow up. The worst part about it is that is wasn't his first time with that attitude.

Thank you to all of the moderators. I just feel that too many threads lately are doing all of this. There are a couple other threads besides the two recent that exploded that involve people that claim to be reptile experts or people that say an animal should always be it it's natural environment. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for the control, cause I was close to abandoning the site and just go with the recommended books. But the people here are too good at raising dragons that I really want to stay. From now on I'm not going to let a troller seduce me into an argument they want to start.
