Tips on handling

Hi guys, just wondering if there are any tips you could throw my way about handling my beardie. He's about 5months old and he used to be fine with my holding him. He's never bitten or gone to bite me nor has he hissed but recently he's become very wriggling like he doesn't want to be held and I think his beard turned slightly black as well?! Don't know what to do...

Thanks

Sometimes they just get into squirmy moods and want to run around. If it's safe in your house (no heavy things to fall, no other animals, etc) you could let him explore a bit and burn off some energy. How long does his beard stay black? If it's not for long then it probably just indicates frustration at something or is hormonal.

Thankyou for the reply and he seems a lot better today like his normal self. I was able to hold him without him wriggling as much and without his beard going black!! He must have been in a bad mood

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
